Yellowstone: Old Faithful

Le troisième jour à Yellowstone, encore un lever à 4h pour éviter la foule. Nous sommes arrivés à la plus grande attraction, le basin de geysers autour du geyser "Old Faithful", dont beaucoup sont encore actifs et prévisibles. Nous avons eu un bon timing et avons enchainés les éruptions de 4 geysers !

For our third day in Yellowstone, we again woke up at 4am to avoid the crowds. We arrived at the most famous attraction, the geyser basin around Old Faithful, with a lot of geysers still active and predictable. We had a good timing and saw 4 eruptions in a raw !

En soirée, éruption inattendue de "Beehive Geyser", une des éruptions les plus hautes du parc. Les gens devant sont minuscules ! / Later in the day we saw the Beehive Geyser erupting, one of the highest geyser in the parc. People in front of it look tiny !

Yellowstone fin juin, ce n'est pas la période creuse !! Pour éviter la foule, nous avons choisi le lever à 4h et la sieste en début d'après-midi ! Cela nous a permis de voir des animaux mais de faire surtout des visites tranquilles !

End of June in Yellowstone, for sure this is not off-season !! To avoid the crowds, we opted for a 4am start and a nap in the afternoon. We then enjoyed some wildlife and quiet visits in the morning.

Yellowstone: Geyser Basin

Nous avons passé 4 jours à Yellowstone, en faisant tout le tour du parc (en ressortant du parc pour camper gratuitement dans les National Forest). Le premier jour nous avons vu le West Thumb basin, un endroit avec beaucoup de sources d'eau chaudes, Mud Volcano et les Mammoth terraces.

We spent 4 days in Yellowstone, driving the all tour (just leaving the parc at night to camp for free in the National Forests). The first day we visited West Thumb Basin, Mud Volcano and Mammoth Terraces.

Après l'Utah, nous sommes remontés vers le nord pour aller voir Yellowstone avant de rentrer au Canada.
Le parc national "Grand Teton" est collé à Yellowstone au sud. Nous nous sommes arrêté à Jackson Hole, station de ski renommée, juste à l'entrée de Grand Teton.

After Utah, we travelled north to Yellowstone before heading back to Canada. The Grand Teton National Park is right by Yellowstone. We stopped in Jackson Hole, a famous ski resort just before Grand Teton.

Les boy-scouts de Jackson Hole ramassent les bois des cerfs qui tombent tous les automnes, et ils construisent 4 arches comme celle-ci !  / Jackson Hole's boy scouts collect the antlers that fall every autumn, and they build 4 arches like this one !

Cedar Break National Monument

Nous avons écumé presque tout le désert du sud-ouest des USA, il est temps de remonter vers le nord. En chemin pour Yellowstone, nous nous sommes arrêtés à Cedar Breaks, une sorte de Bryce Canyon avec moins de hoodos et plus de neige !

We felt like we explored all of the south-west desert of the US, so it's time to move back north ! On our way to Yellowstone, we stopped at Cedar Breaks, a little Bryce Canyon with hoodoos and more snowy !

Parece que hemos bastante explorado el disierto Sur-Oeste des los EEUU, ahora tenemos que volver al Norte !
En el camino de Yellowstone, nos hemos parado a Cedar Breaks, mas pequeño que Bryce Cañon, pero con nieve !

On a même eu droit à un tour en raquette privé avec un ranger ! / We even did a short snowshoe hike with a ranger ! / Hemos hecho un poco de raqueta de nieve tambien !

Grand Canyon : Randonnée le long de la rive Nord / Hike along the North Rim / Excursion a lo largo de la orilla Norte

Nous avons fait une petite randonnée le long de la rive Nord et avons trouvé un coin pique-nique à l'écart des foules pour profiter de la vue en toute tranquillité !

As we hiked a little bit of the North Rim, we found a quiet place to have lunch and enjoy the view peacefully.

Hemos andado a lo largo de la orilla Norte dondo hemos encontrado un sitio para comer, lejos de los turistas.

Nous avons rencontré ce "Horned Lizard", au look un peu agressif du haut de ses 2cm et 8cm de long ! / We met this horned lizard, looking agressively at us from his 2cm of height and 8cm of length ! / Hemos encontrado este "Horned Lizard", mirandonos agresivamente desde sus 2cm de altura con 8 cm de largo !

Et un petit peu de flûte indienne Navajo pour le plaisir de vos oreilles ! Au moins le paysage est beau !
